Petrequin College Consulting was founded by Marilyn Petrequin in 1993 and has assisted over one thousand students and their families in their selection, application, and successful admission to colleges and universities throughout the United States. All sessions are individual and planned to meet the needs of the specific student and her/his family.

Petrequin College Consulting is a small office, with families choosing to work with either Marilyn Petrequin or Eric Delehoy. Marilyn and Eric are highly experienced college counselors with the latest information on the colleges, whether state universities, small liberal arts colleges, or the Ivy League. Their skills with high school age students and their parents mean that the meeting sessions are pleasurable and productive. They understand what colleges look for in an applicant and how to tailor the application to best showcase the strengths of the student. The counseling process begins with an initial one-hour meeting attended by both the student and the parents. Contents of the meetings vary according to the student’s year in high school and the questions the family asks. After the initial meeting the family decides whether to continue to the college counseling full service program. This program covers the entire college selection and admission process and usually begins in the middle of the junior year of high school.

Each student’s unique strengths and needs are our primary concern. The college list is chosen to fit the student both academically and socially. Advice is given throughout the college counseling meetings concerning all details:  Early Action or Early Decision, SAT and/or ACT test preparation, college visits, recommendations, financial aid and possible scholarships. We carefully monitor each phase of the process, to assure that suitable choices are made and that the application is as compelling as possible.
